A leading staffing solutions provider is seeking a P.ENG Structural Engineer for a diverse range of projects in Ontario. In this role, you will manage structural and civil design projects from conception to execution. Candidates must have a Civil Engineering degree, 2-4 years of experience, and P.Eng. Ontario designation. Familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks is crucial. This position emphasizes both design and on-site responsibilities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications.

  • Develop systems related to documentation and controls.
  • Prepare studies, design criteria, and quantity estimates.
  • Collaborate with clients and Project Managers throughout the project.

Structural Engineer

Are you a Structural Engineer bored of repetitive projects? We have an exciting opportunity for a P.ENG Structural Engineer to join a company where you can work on a diverse range of projects across various industries.

As a Structural Engineer, you will work under the supervision of the Engineering Manager, primarily responsible for planning and executing structural and civil design projects from start to finish.

The projects typically support manufacturing facilities and may include:

  • Existing building modifications
  • Adding custom mezzanines
  • Joist reinforcements
  • Pipe and equipment hangers
  • Roof or wall penetrations
  • Concrete equipment pads

Responsibilities

  • Prepare conceptual and detailed design calculations, layouts, sketches, and specifications with guidance from the engineering manager
  • Conduct site visits to gather information for quoting or project execution, and be prepared to work on-site as needed
  • Inspect completed projects to ensure compliance with safety standards and codes
  • Develop systems related to documentation and controls
  • Prepare studies, design criteria, and quantity estimates
  • Collaborate with clients and Project Managers throughout the project, providing updates and reports
  • Allocate approximately 40-50% of time to design and concept planning

Qualifications

  • Civil Engineering degree with 2-4 years of experience in industrial design, regulations, and standards
  • P.Eng. Ontario designation is required
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Office, and other 3D imaging software
  • Strong knowledge of civil engineering and structural standards and codes
  • Experience in industrial construction and structural steelwork
