Job description

AECOM is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to provide resident engineering services during the construction phase of a major infrastructure project in the Lower Mainland. This role is based on-site and involves close collaboration with contractors design teams and project stakeholders to ensure that structural works are executed in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and inspect structural works including foundations superstructures platforms canopies and ancillary structures at multiple locations.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings specifications and shop drawings.
  • Coordinate with contractors to resolve technical issues and field changes.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes standards and contract documents.
  • Participate in site meetings progress reviews and safety inspections.
  • Prepare daily reports non-conformance reports (NCRs) and field memos.
  • Support the Project Manager in managing construction quality.
  • Liaise with design engineers to address Requests for Information (RFIs) and design clarifications.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor submittals and method statements related to structural works.

Qualifications : Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this position candidates must possess at a minimum :

  • A Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • A minimum of four years of experience in structural engineering including at least two years in construction site supervision.
  • Professional Engineer (.) designation in British Columbia.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Six years of experience in transit infrastructure or station construction.
  • Strong knowledge of structural systems concrete and steel construction and relevant codes (e.g. CSA ACI AISC).
  • Excellent communication documentation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
  • Valid drivers license (site is not accessible by public transit).
  • Experience with public sector infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with construction management software (e.g. Procore Autodesk Construction Cloud Bluebeam).
