Our Ideal Candidate

As the successful candidate, you will work in a team environment to prepare structural engineering designs and related documents. You will work on assigned projects under the guidance of a senior engineer while collaborating with other engineers and designers.

Using your considerable organizational, communication and people skills, you will collaborate with multi-discipline teams to ensure projects are completed within allotted schedules and budgets, and to high quality standards.

A Day in the Life
  • Preparing engineering designs and related documents for various projects
  • Performing field reviews during various stages of projects throughout construction (ie. Rebar layout, structural steel etc.)
  • Collaborating with structural or civil team, comprised of engineers, designers, project coordinators, and others, to assist with the development of engineering design and related documents
  • Ensuring completion of work within allotted schedules and budgets to high quality standards.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structural and registered as an EIT within the Province of British Columbia
  • 1-3 years of structural engineering experience with steel, reinforced concrete and bridge construction engineering
  • Basic knowledge of engineering analysis and design software packages such as SAP2000, ETABS and RISA is preferred
  • Design experience using AutoCAD 3D and ProSteel in an industrial setting is an asset
  • Technical competence and strong attention to detail
  • Experience reviewing shop drawings and responding to RFI's is an asset
  • Experience in the design of concrete, steel and timber structures is an asset
  • Experience supporting the delivery of projects on schedule, on budget, in scope at the required quality and achieving client satisfaction
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written)
  • Proven ability to interact with clients and to collaborate with team members in a multi-disciplined environment
  • Must have a valid driver's license
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision
