We are currently seeking a Structural Designer to join the Integrated Design team. The successful candidate would have opportunities to work on a variety of projects within the Energy and Resource sector ranging from studies to detail engineering projects in North America and across the world. This role would provide an opportunity to be a part of a diverse team while focusing on technical growth.

Specifically, we are looking for a candidate that is fluently bilingual in English and French to support work with our Quebec-based teams.

This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to challenge their abilities in a dynamic work environment. As a Structural Designer, you will be responsible to work on various industrial projects. This role involves structural engineering design and analysis under minimal supervision. You would be relied on to make sound structural designs, and to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality solutions.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • You are expected to understand and work according to the requirements of the Stantec Safety Culture and in compliance with all Health and Safety rules and regulations for Stantec and its clients.
  • Perform modeling, drafting and structural design tasks for a wide variety of projects.
  • Complete project deliverables on budget and schedule.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, designers, and project teams to produce quality design deliverables with the appropriate level of detail.

Your Capabilities And Credentials

  • At least four (4) years of experience in the industrial consulting industry or an industrial environment.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD and Revit, or similar platforms.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office Suite.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in both English and French with ability to work on projects in either language.
  • A strong sense of teamwork, especially in remote collaborative environments.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
  • A strong understanding of design concepts, with an emphasis on structural design.

Education And Experience

  • Graduate of Technical or College Course in Design / Drafting, or the ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge received from previous experience in a similar position.
  • 4 to 12 years of experience in engineering consulting or the construction industry.
