Job description

Job Title: Structural Design Engineer

Location: Dorval, Quebec, Canada (Onsite)

Duration: Full Time

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and contribute to structural design engineering activities, with emphasis on joiner structural design (experience in this area is an asset).
  • Collaborate with suppliers and act as the integrator for supplier-delivered work packs, ensuring readiness for final assembly.
  • Define, review, and validate Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs) and ensure alignment with program needs.
  • Participate in and provide expertise during Joint Definition Phase (JDP) and Joint Conceptual Definition Phase (JCDP) of development programs.
  • Identify, communicate, and manage design requirements to suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance with program objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, ensuring knowledge transfer and high-quality deliverables.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including stress, systems, manufacturing, and program management, to ensure seamless program execution.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 15–20 years of experience in structural design engineering within the aerospace industry.
  • Strong supplier integration and collaboration experience, preferably with OEMs that act as integrators.
  • Hands-on experience with TRDs (Technical Request / Requirements Documents).
  • Demonstrated involvement in JDP and JCDP phases of aircraft development.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard CAD / PLM tools (e.g., CATIA V5, 3DEXPERIENCE, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Joiner structural design experience.
  • Exposure to multiple aircraft programs and complex global supply chains.
  • Experience working in multi-cultural, distributed engineering environments.
