Job Title : Stress Analyst

Job Description

Our client, a leader in the nuclear field, is looking for a Stress Analyst to join their team on a long term contract in the Mississauga area. As a member of the Reactor Components – Analysis team, you will play a crucial role in leading and executing the design analysis of reactor components. This position involves performing engineering calculations to support the design of nuclear pressure boundary components and preparing formal technical reports. You will review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports while ensuring engineering activities are completed within budget and schedule. Providing accurate reporting to technical and project managers and resolving any critical engineering-related matters promptly are key aspects of this role. Coordination with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines is essential to execute assigned engineering work efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team to complete the design analysis of reactor components.
  • Perform engineering calculations to support the design of nuclear pressure boundary components.
  • Prepare formal technical reports.
  • Review design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.
  • Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.
  • Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.
  • Respond promptly to and resolve critical engineering matters.
  • Perform engineering work following Quality Assurance programs, codes, standards, and regulation requirements.
  • Coordinate and interface with clients, suppliers, stakeholders, and other design disciplines.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 8 or more years of related work experience in the design and analysis of complex mechanical systems or equipment.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and independently.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have professional experience using ANSYS WB or APDL for FEA
  • Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Seismic analysis experience.
  • Hydrostatic analysis experience.
  • Work Environment

    The work location is primarily in Mississauga, with flexibility to work from Pickering once a week if necessary. Expect to work from the office three days a week within a 37.5-hour work week. The work environment is professional yet social, with opportunities for participation in sports teams and cultural groups. The team embraces a diverse range of nationalities and enjoys a structured but procedure-driven environment. You will have access to extensive documentation archives and opportunities for technical development through courses and interactions with industry experts.     Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $75.00 / hr.
