Job description

Street Outreach Worker Student Job, AIDS Committee of North Bay and Area.
Location: North Bay, ON.
Salary: 17.20 hourly / 30 hours per week.
Part-time. Day, evening, morning.
Start date: 2025-05-05.
End date: 2025-07-04.

Languages: English
Student status: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. Full-time enrollment.
Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Worksite environment:
Socio-economic needs or conditions (housing, nutrition, unemployment, financial assistance).
Services for the homeless.
Work setting: Urban area, Various Locations, Rural area, Social service or charity agency.

Responsibilities:

  1. Administrative and office activities.
  2. Conduct social research.
  3. Assess the client's relevant skill strengths and development needs.
  4. Housekeeping activities.
  5. Food preparation.
  6. Provide suicide and crisis intervention.
  7. Resolve conflict situations.
  8. Liaise with other social services agencies and health care providers involved with clients.
  9. Maintain program statistics for purposes of evaluation and research.
  10. Accompany clients to appointments and social outings.
  11. Supervision of 5-10 people.

Additional Information:
Security and safety: Enhanced reliability security clearance, Driver's validity licence check.
Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's license. Travel expenses paid by employer.

Work conditions and physical capabilities:
Fast-paced environment. Work under pressure. Physically demanding. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
