Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Brampton is recruiting for a category procurement role that supports domestic and offshore sourcing, vendor relationships, and cost management. You will work with the Sourcing Director to provide category insights and drive supplier performance for Loblaw Brands and private labels.

You will source new suppliers, influence buying strategies, and collaborate across supply chain and back-office teams. Travel to the Toronto area 1–2 days per week is required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in business or supply management or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years in a procurement, supply chain or retail merchandising role.
• Strong relationship management and communication skills.
• Analytical approach and ability to use data to make decisions.

Responsibilities

• Source new suppliers for OTC control brand products.
• Influence and implement buying strategies aligned to category playbooks and budget obligations.
• Build trusted relationships with the vendor community and external partners.
• Lead and assist the Director with vendor meetings and product costing negotiations; manage vendors’ fulfilment and financial performance.
• Evaluate new product/platform innovation with Loblaw Brands and retail divisions for sourcing.
• Collaborate with supply chain replenishment and transport teams to resolve availability challenges.
• Research the competitive landscape and benchmarking standards on costing and sourcing strategies.
• Collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to onboard new suppliers and set up new items.
