This position reports directly to the Director, Risk Control Services. The Strategic Risk Control Consultant will apply risk management techniques to evaluate client exposures, develop improvement plans, and manage risk control services for large, complex clients across multiple locations and coverage lines. Responsibilities include assessing risks, coordinating consultative services, collaborating with Underwriting and Claims, utilizing analytics, delivering presentations, and managing service delivery according to department guidelines. The role may involve regional and corporate projects, supporting marketing efforts, and educating agents about risk control capabilities.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Evaluate existing and prospective clients' risk exposures across various insurance lines, including healthcare industry experience a plus.
  • Plan and deliver consultative services based on client risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with Underwriting and Claims teams to service accounts effectively.
  • Use analytics to support recommendations and demonstrate client improvements.
  • Present findings and strategies to clients at all organizational levels.
  • Manage a workload focused on large, multi-location insured clients.
  • Develop and manage customized service plans and large account instructions.
  • Communicate progress regularly and adhere to department policies.
  • Meet all quality assurance standards and comply with applicable laws and ethics.

Target Salary Range: $121,500 - $148,500.

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years' experience in risk control, risk management, or safety, preferably within insurance or industrial environments.
  • Experience working with public entities such as counties, cities, or municipal governments; police and fire service experience is desirable.
  • Ability to meet clients in person frequently.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT standards.
  • Strong research, observation, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with business analytics and proficiency with MS Office.
  • Certifications like CSP or ARM preferred.
  • Willingness to travel within the territory and overnight as needed, with a valid driver's license.
