Job summary

AGCO, located in Toronto, Ontario, is seeking a Policy Advisor to join the Strategic Policy and Market Insights Branch. The role involves developing, analyzing, and implementing policies to regulate Ontario’s alcohol, gaming, horseracing and cannabis sectors.

You will work with cross-functional teams to advance objectives, build relationships with stakeholders, and deliver results through collaboration. The position is in-office at AGCO's Head Office in Toronto on a contract basis up to 12

Qualifications

  • Degree or background in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, or Business Administration with senior experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Experience with policy development in government/public sector is preferred.
  • Ability to synthesize large information into clear terms for diverse audiences.
  • Experience in quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation.
  • Ability to analyze legislation and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Support design and preparation of effective policy using research materials.
  • Provide analytical support to policy development initiatives.
  • Analyze data to inform evidence-based policy recommendations.
  • Monitor industry developments to support regulatory policy analysis.
  • Assist policy consultations with government, industry, and stakeholders.
  • Engage in research and program evaluation activities.
  • Coordinate and lead analysis and business process design projects.
