Job summary

TalentSphere in Hamilton, ON is seeking a detail-oriented Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to maintain stock levels, coordinate purchasing, and manage supplier relationships within a manufacturing/distribution setting.

You will monitor inventory movement across facilities, generate weekly reports, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize material flow and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years purchasing or inventory management experience.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems for purchasing and planning.
• Strong Excel skills including formulas and pivot tables.
• Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate purchasing activities to ensure material availability while controlling costs.
• Forecast material requirements with regional managers and sales teams.
• Issue POs, support supplier sourcing and procurement planning.
• Manage intercompany stock transfers and transportation costs.
• Monitor inventory levels, prepare weekly low-stock reports, and investigate discrepancies.
• Collaborate with purchasing, sales, warehouse, and logistics teams to optimize flows.
