Job summary

General Dynamics Land Systems–Canada (GDLS-C) is seeking a Procurement Manager to lead a high-performing team and shape sourcing and procurement strategies for defense programs in Canada. You will partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver value while managing risk and continuous improvement across the supplier base.

The role emphasizes leadership, negotiation, and collaboration, with travel to domestic and international sites.

Qualifications

• University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Operations, or related discipline.
• 7–10 years of relevant professional experience, including experience leading high-performing teams.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, organizational and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships.
• Strong customer focus and collaborative approach.
• Strong negotiation skills and comfort working with technical information.
• Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally (approx. 10% Canada / 10% U.S. & international).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a valid passport.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop a team of procurement professionals, establishing and monitoring team goals, KPIs and performance.
• Lead strategic sourcing and procurement activities, including sourcing strategies, supplier selection, negotiations and contract management.
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships while monitoring performance, risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to understand business and program requirements and deliver effective procurement solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, delivery, supplier performance and overall value.
• Ensure procurement activities align with GDLS-C, divisional and customer requirements, policies and procedures.
• Support procurement reviews, special projects and business initiatives.
• Provide leadership with updates on procurement activities, supplier performance, risks and emerging issues.
• Act as a delegate for the Department Director, as required.
