Job summary

The Medical Council of Canada (MCC) is seeking a Procurement and Contracts Specialist in Ottawa, Ontario. This full-time permanent role is hybrid, reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, and includes end-to-end procurement, contracting, and policy support.

You’ll lead vendor solicitations, develop statements of work, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while collaborating with internal clients and legal counsel.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of progressive procurement and contract management experience.
• Strong knowledge of procurement documentation, SOWs, and vendor evaluation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to coordinate with legal counsel.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal clients to understand procurement needs and requirements.
• Plan and implement procurement strategies for goods and services.
• Translate requirements into RFPs, RFQs, and RFIs.
• Manage competitive bidding processes and vendor proposals.
• Prepare statements of work and evaluation criteria.
• Negotiate and administer purchase orders and contracts.
• Collaborate with legal to maintain contract templates.
• Track contract expiries and coordinate renewals and amendments.
