Job summary

Manitoba Hydro is seeking a Procurement Advisor to lead strategic procurement for goods and/or services of moderate value, complexity and risk. You will work under the Procurement Supervisor and Team Lead to ensure best value in accordance with corporate policies, Trade Agreements and related laws.

The role requires overseeing end-to-end tender evaluations, hosting kickoff meetings, drafting and closing tender documents, and coordinating with internal partners and suppliers to maintain

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent with 2 years related experience.
  • Two-year Post Graduate Diploma in Global Logistics and SCM with 3 years related experience.
  • SCMP designation with 1 year related experience.
  • Strong communication, diplomacy and negotiation skills.
  • Knowledge of competitive bidding process and contract law.
  • Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Understanding of public sector procurement and Trade Agreements is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Procurement of goods/services using professional expertise to maximize efficiency.
  • Oversee end-to-end tender evaluation with internal partners.
  • Collaborate with customers daily to promote best procurement strategy.
  • Lead kick-off meetings; draft/edit/execute/finalize tender documents (RFQ, RFP, RFPQ).
  • Upload/close RFx to MERX; document confidential bid information and share with customers.
  • Communicate across departments, suppliers and partners to build strong relationships.
  • Develop procurement/evaluation strategies with internal partners.
  • Lead supplier relationship activities and contract awards.
  • Conduct market assessments; prepare reports and spreadsheets.
  • Perform other duties as required within scope.
