Job summary

Alberta Blue Cross® is seeking a Senior Portfolio Architect to own the target architecture and modernization roadmap for defined technology portfolios, reporting to the Chief Architect. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on enterprise coherence rather than solo delivery.

You will translate strategy into practical roadmaps, balance risk and investment, and guide delivery teams through governance forums while avoiding direct people-management responsibilities.

• Influence across governance forums without direct people-management.

Responsibilities

• Translate corporate and IT strategy into architecture guidance.
• Develop and maintain portfolio architecture views (current/target/transition).
• Assess impacts across capabilities, platforms, data, security, operations, and customer experience.
• Prepare decision-ready options for portfolio planning and governance discussions.
• Collaborate with IT leadership, Finance, business stakeholders, and delivery teams to align plans.
• Provide portfolio guardrails to Solution Architects without owning detailed design or delivery management.
• Identify and escalate major risks, dependencies, and drift through governance forums.
