Job summary

The Toronto Regional Real Estate Board seeks a Controller to oversee day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring timely, accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across all core functions.

You will work with the Associate CFO to strengthen financial processes, support budgeting/forecasting, and ensure ASNPO compliance, while leading the finance team to deliver strategic insights and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of accounting experience with 2+ years in management.
• Not-for-profit experience is an asset.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASNPO.
• CPA designation or equivalent is desirable.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial transaction processing to ensure timely reporting.
• Maintain integrity of accounting records, ledgers, and financial reporting for GAAP/ASNPO compliance.
• Lead internal controls, risk management, and policy development across accounting functions.
• Direct accounts payable, accounts receivable, capital assets, intercompany transactions, and GL activity.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and variance analyses.
• Support budgeting/forecasting, year-end audits, and collaboration with external auditors.
• Ensure proper recording and transfer of data into the accounting system and reconcile balances.
