Job summary

Walmart Canada in Mississauga is seeking an experienced Merchandiser to own category P&L, develop strategies, and drive pricing, inventory targets, and sales growth. You will lead vendor negotiations, collaborate with cross‑functional partners, and deliver store-ready seasonal sets on time.

Responsibilities

• Manage merchandise profit and loss and category financial results.
• Plan short-term and long-term strategies for assigned categories.
• Monitor forecasts, sales, markdowns, coop collection, market share, gross profit, inventory targets and pricing.
• Communicate results to cross-functional partners and review post-buy financial analysis.
• Develop category strategies aligned with merchant/portfolio financials and data sources.
• Conduct vendor and SKU optimization, price ladders, and private label development.
• Visit stores to build category strategy and price ladders for sub-categories as needed.
• Negotiate and manage vendor agreements, costs, allowances, quality and delivery terms.
• Maintain vendor relationships, including domestic and overseas suppliers.
• Lead marketing for the category, tab space planning, and media execution.
• Proof final tabs/media and develop exit strategies for tab inventory residue.
• Forecast new items and promotions, identify deletes, and communicate markdowns/price adjustments.
• Lead line reviews and deliver store-ready modulars and seasonal sets on time.
• Support associate development, mentorship, and succession planning within the Category Team.
