Job summary

BDO Canada is seeking a Senior Associate, M&A and Capital Markets to join our Advisory team in Toronto, to support high-impact transactions and client outcomes.

Responsibilities include preparing teasers, IMs, target lists, and financial models, while mentoring junior staff. The role requires a CPA/CFA/CBV or equivalent, 3-4 years of related experience, and willingness to travel within Canada and North America.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline, with a CPA, CFA, or CBV designation.
• 3-4 years of experience in audit, valuation, corporate finance, M&A advisory, or other related professional services.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong business acumen, analytical skills, and foundation of accounting and corporate finance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Prepare transaction marketing materials, such as teasers, confidential information memorandums, and management presentations.
• Prepare lists of potential acquisition targets, buyers, and investors.
• Perform in-depth financial analyses, including sustainability of earnings and cash flows, working capital, and key value drivers.
• Prepare financial models including historical and forecast operating models and other analyses.
• Communicate with transaction counterparties including sellers, buyers, accountants, legal counsel, and other advisors.
• Conduct market, industry, and company research to support transactions and business development.
• Support business development through pitch materials and marketing content.
• Oversee the work of junior team members, including delegating and reviewing deliverables.
