Job summary

Nutrien is seeking a Category Advisor in Canada to lead procurement strategies for NPK operations. Based in Saskatoon or Calgary, this role supports automation, supplier relationships, and cross-functional collaboration while ensuring cost-effective purchasing practices.

The position reports to the Manager, Shared Buying NPK and requires strong analytical and negotiation skills, with experience in SAP/Oracle and blanket purchase agreements.

Qualifications

• Degree or professional Supply Chain designation or six (6) or more years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing.
• Certifications in disciplines such as Procurement (SCMP/CPSM), Inventory Management (CIPS), Lean / Six Sigma, or Operational Planning preferred.
• Must be proficient in all Microsoft applications with a high skill level with Excel.
• Knowledge and experience with SAP and/or Oracle ERP programs preferred.
• Knowledge of Outline or Blanket Purchase Agreement administration.
• Experience in data management with strong analytical capabilities and a track record of success in a highly quantitative and analytical environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive category efficiency through automation and supplier relationship management for procurement of commodity and specialized goods within NPK operations.
• Negotiate fixed price agreements within scope suppliers while engaging internal stakeholders to ensure lowest total cost of ownership.
• Conduct spend analysis and reviews on the fixed price file to align sustainment of existing agreements.
• Evaluate data review to enhance automation on existing agreements and sustain automation percentage for fixed price agreements.
• Assist in development, planning, and execution of goods and services initiatives in line with indirect spend Procurement strategy.
• Collaborate with Category Management, site procurement teams, and suppliers to optimize cross-functional teams.
