About the workplace

The Vancity Analytics Centre of Excellence (ACE) leverages data to provide actionable insights, helping leaders make stronger decisions. We prioritize storytelling and a human-centered approach, avoiding complex charts and focusing on the 'so what' of insights. We collaborate closely with colleagues to serve members and the business.

This 18-month contract role offers a hybrid work arrangement primarily from the Vancity head office and your home in Lower Mainland, with occasional in-person events.

Typical responsibilities include:
  • Supporting multiple business lines with actionable insights from Vancity’s data.
  • Humanizing data insights through narratives, analysis, and recommendations, including building models and evaluating experiments.
  • Translating complex information needs into research and analytics initiatives.
  • Assisting the director in communicating insights to enable strategic decisions.
  • Identifying trends, risks, and opportunities, and making management recommendations.
  • Collaborating with the Analytics Centre and stakeholders, including exposure to VP level.
Qualifications
  • Strong analytical thinking and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field.
  • 5-7 years of analytics experience.
  • Proficiency in SQL, R/Python, Power BI/Tableau, and statistical methods.
  • Ability to explore, clean, and analyze complex data sources.
Preferred experience
  • Experience in financial services, banking, credit risk, marketing, CRM, or call centers.
Personal qualities
  • Passionate about data interpretation.
  • Enjoys solving complex problems and thinking conceptually.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity.

The salary range is $81,200 to $122,000 annually, with potential incentives based on performance and qualifications.
