Job summary

ServiceMaster of the Fraser Valley is seeking a Financial Controller to oversee accounting and financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain strong internal controls. You will provide leadership to the accounting team and collaborate with executives and project managers to improve profitability and growth.

The role requires 5+ years of progressive accounting experience (1–2 years in supervision), a relevant bachelor’s degree, and strong QuickBooks expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with 1–2 years in a supervisory role.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• CPA or CMA designation is an asset.
• Advanced proficiency with QuickBooks.
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate the company’s accounting and financial operations.
• Develop and maintain internal controls and financial policies.
• Prepare monthly financial reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Lead month-end and year-end closes, analyze variances with leaders.
• Oversee accounts payable/receivable, payroll, cost, inventory, and general accounting.
• Work with project managers on job costing and profitability.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations and reporting requirements.
