Job summary

Algonquin Students’ Association is seeking a Senior Manager, Finance CPA to lead financial stewardship, planning, and systems governance. You will supervise budgeting, forecasting, reporting, treasury, and audit coordination in a complex, unionized, student-governed environment.

The role partners with the General Manager/CEO and Board to deliver decision-ready analysis, manage ERPs (SAGE) and Deputy payroll integration, and drive process improvements for sustainability and growth.

Qualifications

• CPA designation (or equivalent) is required.
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related discipline.
• Minimum five years of progressive senior financial management experience with budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and internal controls.
• Experience with ERP systems (SAGE) and payroll systems (Deputy), including configuration, reporting, and controls.
• Proven experience in financial reporting, compliance, and statutory remittances in a complex organization.
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills, including variance analysis, forecasting, and scenario modeling.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear insights for executives and non-financial leaders.

Responsibilities

• Develop long-term financial strategies, multi-year forecasts, and reserve plans to support sustainability.
• Lead annual operating and capital budgets and monitor forecasting and performance across diverse operations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and supporting information.
• Direct treasury and corporate resources, including cash flow, liquidity, banking, and investments.
• Govern financial and payroll systems, ensure data integrity, controls, and integration with HRIS and reporting tools.
• Lead modernization and automation of financial systems and processes for efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure compliance with all regulations, audit readiness, and manage year-end audits.
• Provide strategic financial analysis to the CEO and Board for decision-making and investment evaluation.
