Job summary

The Yukon Development Corporation seeks a Manager of Major Energy Projects in Whitehorse to lead planning and advancement of major energy infrastructure, including the Yukon-BC Grid Connect project. You will direct multidisciplinary teams, budgets, and schedules to ensure timely, compliant delivery that supports Yukon's energy transition.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this term role runs through March 2030.

Qualifications

Degree in engineering, project management, resource management, environmental studies, business/public administration or related discipline.
Significant experience leading complex, multi-year infrastructure, energy or capital projects through planning, feasibility, design and regulatory approval stages.
Experience managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contracts, budgets, schedules, risks and deliverables.
Experience building collaborative relationships with utilities, governments, regulators, First Nations, industry partners and other stakeholders.
Experience providing strategic advice and briefings to senior executives, boards or elected officials.

Responsibilities

Lead planning and advancement of complex energy infrastructure initiatives, focusing on the Yukon-BC Grid Connect project.
Direct multidisciplinary teams, budgets, schedules and risk management from planning through approvals.
Collaborate with utilities, governments, First Nations and partners to ensure timely, accountable project delivery.
