Job summary

Newmark’s Vancouver cost planning team seeks a Consultant to join the Cost Planning group in the Vancouver, BC office. You will work with clients, PMs, architects and engineers to deliver cost consulting on diverse projects across BC and beyond, from conceptual to detailed estimates and change orders.

You will collaborate with a team of consultants, manage client relationships to drive repeat business, and contribute to project meetings while applying CIQS/CEC/MRICS standards where applicable.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Construction, Project Management, or Construction Consulting.
• Working toward or holding CIQS PQS / CEC / MRICS is preferred.
• Proficient in MS Office suite and estimation software (AI/Bluebeam/CostX).
• Knowledge of CIQS measurement methods, BC Building Codes, and CCDC contract conditions.
• Strong report writing and client presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct quantity surveying and cost planning on BC construction projects, with potential nationwide support.
• Prepare estimates from conceptual to detailed stages (Class D to Class A), review tenders and change orders.
• Use benchmarking data to analyze unit rates and cost drivers for assets and facilities.
• Assess level of detail for estimates based on provided information; communicate with clients and cost team leaders.
• Support data collection, analysis, and interpretation of cost and schedule data; lead project meetings.
