Job summary

Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking a Buyer to source and procure raw materials, electronic components, tooling, and services to support production operations. The role involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, resolving shortages, and driving cost reduction while ensuring on-time delivery.

The position requires 3–5+ years in purchasing in manufacturing, plus strong Excel, ERP/MRP knowledge, and ability to coordinate with production and engineering teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; 3–5+ years purchasing experience in manufacturing.
• Experience interpreting BOMs and engineering drawings.
• Strong supplier management and negotiation skills.
• Advanced proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage suppliers across quality, delivery, inventory, scheduling and contracts.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance in cost, quality and delivery.
• Coordinate procurement activities with production schedules.
• Resolve material shortages to support uninterrupted manufacturing.
• Source, evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, cost and delivery.
• Negotiate pricing, terms and long-term supply agreements.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives and process improvements.
• Maintain and report on open purchase orders, late deliveries, inventory coverage and supplier performance metrics.
• Support engineering and new product development activities as needed.
