Job summary

Johnson Electric in Stratford, Ontario is hiring a Buyer to manage procurement of materials, equipment, tooling and services for a manufacturing facility. You will coordinate supplier relations, negotiate pricing and contracts, and support cross-functional teams to drive operational efficiency.

Reporting to the Materials Manager, you will handle RFQs/RFPs, supplier evaluations, and ensure timely delivery while maintaining master data and BOM alignment.

Qualifications

• Experience in purchasing, procurement, sourcing, or supply chain operations within a manufacturing environment.
• College diploma or degree in related discipline.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement activities for materials, equipment, tooling, consumables, and services.
• Support up to $20 million in annual purchasing spend.
• Prepare and manage RFQs and RFPs, evaluate supplier proposals, and negotiate pricing and contracts.
• Source specialized products and services to support Maintenance and Quality functions.
• Create new part numbers and maintain purchasing and inventory-related master data.
