Job summary

The City of Kawartha Lakes is seeking a skilled Business Analyst to support the planning, design, development, and launch of efficient business, financial, and operations systems across corporate services. The role requires collaboration with decision makers, end users, and third parties to define requirements and drive IT initiatives.

You will conduct cost-benefit analyses, support ROI-based decisions, coordinate testing, user training, and ensure system interoperability.

Qualifications

• Completion of post-secondary education in Computer Science, Business/Accounting or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Business Analyst.
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP), ITIL, COBIT and PMP designations preferred.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Experience with ERP/DB systems and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide business analysis and project management for corporate and business application implementations.
• Meet with decision makers, owners, and end users to define requirements and goals; identify and resolve issues.
• Lead initiatives to implement or enhance IT solutions to support processes and address needs.
• Gather and analyze data for business cases; report findings and propose solutions.
• Perform cost-benefit and ROI analyses for system acquisitions or enhancements.
• Prepare presentations for IT Steering Committee meetings.
• Assist in selection, deployment, and integration of new business applications.
• Coordinate testing, end-user training, and post-implementation support.
• Develop and maintain IT strategies, policies, procedures, standards, and documentation.
