The Strategic Advisor works closely with the VP Power Operations to ensure the growth and success of the business. The purpose of this role is to outline the Power Operations’ long-term strategic vision and translate it into applicable short-term plans.

What You Will Do
  1. Work directly with the Vice President and leadership team to increase efficiency, drive innovation, mitigate risks, and manage key objectives.
  2. Offer strategic leadership and management oversight of the conceptualization, integration, and implementation of the Power Operation's strategic portfolio.
  3. Lead and facilitate the Power Ops leadership team members to ensure that the planning, execution, and performance measurement activities are performed periodically to assess progress toward annual and long-term plans.
  4. Identify project impacts on departmental resources and provide strategies or approaches to mitigate implementation challenges.
  5. Ensure goals and objectives are translated into rolling multi-year strategies and detailed Key Performance Indicators that align with internal and external partners over the short and long term.
  6. Cohesively lead Power Operations to build, share, and implement strong strategic business plans, connecting these to a portfolio of projects that lead to desired business outcomes.
  7. Provide support, timely information, and technical guidance resulting in the delivery of outcomes aligned with Power Operations strategic plans and roadmaps.
Who You Are
  • You possess a Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, accounting, or engineering; or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Eight to ten years of relevant experience in the power, natural gas industry in marketing, accounting, regulatory, transmission, or related areas.
  • Proven ability to build effective relations externally (vendors, suppliers, citizens) and internally (vertically and horizontally).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication, research, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time within North America.
  • Experience with a variety of technologies (Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, HRIS, Financial Systems).
