Reports to: General Manager Hard Rock
Shift: Monday-Friday
Safety Sensitive: Yes — includes drug & alcohol testing, physical demand fit testing, RCMP criminal record check, and 5-year provincial driving record submission
Travel: Up to 50% within US and Canada
Relocation: Not offered for this position
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop sales strategies with leadership teams to capture market share in contract mining
- Contribute to strategic plans for revenue expansion and work with product managers on customer strategies
- Implement dealer management and selection processes for contract mining customers
- Investigate competitor activities and conduct market research to maintain competitiveness
- Assess customers’ potential with Komatsu Hard Rock products
- Perform opportunity analysis by customer and site
- Maintain accurate customer records
- Develop and implement business targets including revenue, expenses, and resource planning
- Set long-term targets supported by annual budgets and goals
- Ensure customer satisfaction within the primary area of responsibility
- Liaise with customers, business development, and leadership to resolve issues promptly
- Coordinate specialized resources according to customer needs
- Provide regular reports on business activities, opportunities, and customer satisfaction
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in a mining-related discipline (Engineering, Geology, Meteorology, etc.) or Business Administration
- At least 5 years of management experience in direct sales
- Familiarity with underground mining industry and product applications for a minimum of 5 years
- Experience preparing tender submissions
- Proven negotiation skills in customer sales and dealer contracts
- Strong knowledge of underground Hardrock mining industry
- Ability to assess and manage business risks
- Leadership skills to motivate teams and achieve outcomes
- Ability to work as part of an integrated team
- Relationship-building skills within the industry
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills at senior levels
- Bilingualism is an asset
