Strategic Account Manager - Packaged Gases (full time)

The Strategic Account Manager drives profitable growth by winning new strategic accounts and expanding business with existing customers. The role develops and executes strategic account plans, builds long-term relationships with key decision-makers, and identifies opportunities to increase revenue, gross profit, and share of wallet. Working with regional sales and cross-functional teams, the role aligns customer needs with Linde’s products and services to secure sustainable, long-term business.

What you will enjoy doing*

• In this role, you will be responsible for driving sales growth, gross profit performance, and customer retention across a portfolio of strategic accounts while building strong, long-term customer relationships
• You will identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities by understanding customer needs and presenting solutions that clearly differentiate Linde from the competition
• A key focus will be developing and executing strategic account plans that uncover growth opportunities across customer locations, product categories, and applications
• You will build relationships with key decision-makers and negotiate supply agreements that support long-term partnerships, improve profitability, and strengthen customer loyalty
• The role includes preparing accurate account setup information, quotations, and pricing proposals to support both new and existing business opportunities
• You will maintain a healthy sales pipeline and provide accurate forecasts using digital tools to track opportunities, account activity, and overall business growth
• Identifying competitive conversion opportunities and leading targeted business development efforts will be an important part of expanding market share within key accounts and strategic markets
• You will work closely with Territory Managers, Sales Leadership, and cross-functional teams to implement account growth strategies and support successful customer onboarding
• The position requires proactively addressing customer concerns and resolving issues that could impact customer satisfaction, retention, or growth objectives
• Success in this role comes from combining strategic account management, strong relationship-building skills, and a results-driven approach to delivering sustainable sales growth

What makes you great*

• The role is ideal for someone with a high school diploma or GED, while a Bachelor's degree would be considered a strong asset
• You will bring 7–10 years of outside sales experience, with a proven ability to build customer relationships and drive business growth
• Experience within the industrial gas industry is preferred and will help you quickly understand customer applications, products, and market opportunities
• Exposure to the welding industry is also considered an asset and can support success across a broad range of customer segments
• You will have a demonstrated track record of generating profitable sales growth, winning new business, and expanding existing accounts through a disciplined sales process
• The role requires the ability to develop strategic account plans, build relationships with key decision-makers, and negotiate long-term supply agreements that support customer retention and profitability
• Experience within the oil and gas industry would be considered a strong asset and can provide additional insight into key customer markets
• A valid Ontario Class G driver's licence is required, as regular travel to customer sites and business meetings is an important part of the role
• Strong commercial acumen is essential, including pricing strategy, pipeline management, forecasting, and the ability to make sound business decisions
• Success in this role comes from combining relationship-building skills, effective use of digital sales tools, and strong cross-functional collaboration to deliver sustainable growth and exceptional customer results
