Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Administration and Finance, the Storekeeper fills requests for supplies from staff, professors and students, receives merchandise from suppliers and stocks shelves at the McGill Dentistry store. Process orders accurately, make sure shipments are received on time and perform inventory checks are done and maintained at appropriate levels.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Change soiled yellow gown bags for new ones in the morning.
  • Collect soiled gowns from hampers on the 2nd floor and 1st floor clinic, and student health. Take them to the basement and put them in the provided bins against the basement wall.
  • Periodically check the MMP for orders placed by different clinics.
  • Print picklists to select requested products and verify that the best before date is still good for date-sensitive products.
  • Bring the order to the specific clinic and verify and sign the order with the requestor.
  • Keep one copy of the signed order in the stockroom and send the original copy to purchasing.
  • Receive and verify all incoming shipments, and cross-reference with the purchase order in MMP.
  • Check all items for discrepancies, including expiration dates, and notify the supplier immediately of any issues.
  • Sign off on the packing list/invoice, indicating that all information is correct and bring to purchasing for MMP inventory entry.
  • Occasionally assist with moving items between different rooms or floors.
  • Perform rolling inventory every 10-12 weeks, comparing physical inventory with MMP inventory.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Storekeeper or in a similar role.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Working Hours: 7:30 am – 3:30 pm
