Job description

Our client is a leading national operator of dollar discount stores and has grown to be a Canadian success story and a household name.

Your new role

The Store Manager is responsible for the following:

  1. Managing the resources of the store to maximize results and store appearance while making sure to constantly have inventory on the shelves;
  2. Recruiting, developing, training, and motivating a team of Assistant Managers, Key Holders, and Store Associates;
  3. Ensuring that company rules and regulations are explained, understood, and properly followed by all team members;
  4. Managing the work schedules according to the budgeted hours and business needs;
  5. Managing and resolving customer complaints, questions, and inquiries;
  6. Ensuring that inventory counts are done in a prompt and precise manner to ensure proper resupply of goods;
  7. Ensuring that store opening/closing and asset management procedures are properly followed;
  8. Acting as the priority contact person for any issues related to the store alarm system;
  9. Ensuring that employees work safely and apply the standards required by health and safety regulations;
  10. Operating a cash register.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the retail industry, including at least 2 years in a management position;
  • Flexibility regarding availabilities and work schedules (day, evening, weekend);
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-volume environment;
  • Ability to efficiently organize time and manage priorities;
