Nature & Scope

Reporting to the District Manager, the Store Manager creates and maintains the Roots Experience for customers and employees. Key responsibilities include leadership development, succession planning, and coaching. The Store Manager models and acts in accordance with Roots' guiding principles and beliefs.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Achieve store sales budgets by executing company standards, policies, and procedures while exceeding customer expectations through superior service.
  • Provide ongoing selling skills coaching and development tailored to each staff member's strengths and weaknesses to help them reach their personal sales goals.
  • Establish action plans to improve individual performance and productivity.
  • Build and maintain customer loyalty by delivering an exceptional shopping experience and resolving issues promptly and positively.
  • Lead by example in sales and customer service.
  • Proactively seek qualified candidates for current and future positions to ensure the store structure meets business needs.
Qualifications and Experience Required
  • 3+ years of related retail apparel experience.
  • Leadership skills demonstrated through KPI results, retention, and performance coaching.
  • Experience with visual planning and merchandising.
  • Proven sales achievements in a high-volume store.
  • Ability to manage resources to meet service levels.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple situations simultaneously.
  • Strong team-building skills with coaching and mentoring capabilities.
