Job description

EQ3 was born in opposition to trends, vowing instead to focus on timeless designs. We make furniture not fast, but to last. Our greatest hope is to have our pieces passed down like heirlooms. We pride ourselves on being innovators in our industry, and we believe that the more voices and choices we incorporate into our perspective, the better we’re able to find creative solutions for modern life. Everything we do is made in consideration of people, of the planet and of our space.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, collaborative individual to join our Retail Team as a Store Manager.

THE DETAILS:

You’ll be joining our new Vancouver store, which will be hybrid (70% outlet/30% full price), in a full-time capacity.

As a Store Manager, you will take ownership of the business by leading and inspiring your team to maximize their performance. You will strategically plan with key contacts to drive the business to meet company objectives. You are responsible for managing cash and inventory effectively while maintaining compliance with brand standards and other Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • You’ll be taking on a high-responsibility leadership role that oversees several areas of store operations, from maintaining a visually inspiring storefront to managing the store’s inventory and budget
  • You’ll manage the store’s schedule and payroll
  • Collaborating with the Assistant Manager, you’ll develop and execute strategic plans to meet customer needs and drive business. You’ll be responsible for overseeing these plans and measuring them up against the team’s performance
  • As manager, employees will look to you for guidance. It’s your job to create a positive work atmosphere, boost employee morale, and make sure that every employee understands performance expectations
  • You’ll be responsible for recruiting & hiring all employees, coordinating new hire orientations, holding strategic meetings, and conducting performance reviews for each employee

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

  • A minimum three (2.5) years of retail management experience is preferred. A combination of education and experience may be considered
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Design, or Retail Management would be a bonus
  • Proficiency in retail operations and systems (Point of Sale, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and STORIS)
  • Knowledge of the retail furniture industry in which EO3 participates.
  • A creative management style with excellent organizational and communication skills. You should be comfortable motivating, coaching, listening to, and managing a large retail team
  • Experience with multi-project delivery of sales planning, customer service, budgeting, financial management and the ability to create and analyze reports, spreadsheets, and sales statistics.
  • Familiarity with industry trends, market competition, and customer needs in a retail furniture environment. Knowledge of home accessories or fashion industry would be an asset

WORK LIFE AT EQ3:

  • A company that supports work-life balance with paid time off and flexibility
  • Salary per year: 58k - 62k CAD (according to the experience in the position), plus benefit packages.
  • Employee discount program for products, wellness plans, group banking and more
  • EQ3 Spirit Committee that promotes community engagement, rewards, and recognition for all employees
  • Surround yourself with a community that supports professional growth and collaboration
