Job summary

Carter’s Inc. is seeking a Store Manager in Halifax to lead a team and serve as the brand face for growing families. You’ll coach staff to become product experts, manage payroll and budgets, and drive omnichannel execution.

Maintain a welcoming, inclusive work environment and develop your team’s leadership potential. You’ll recruit, train, and engage employees to optimize store performance while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of retail or related management experience leading direct reports.
  • A high school diploma is required.
  • You can lift 40 pounds as needed and stand/walk for extended periods.

  • Build a talent pipeline through networking and recruiting.
  • Develop succession plans by training and developing your team.
  • Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive work environment for employees to collaborate and recognize performance.
  • Grow leaders through directing, delegating, and investing in their development.
  • Lead the Leader on Duty program to ensure excellent customer focus on the sales floor.
  • Provide warm customer greetings and assist with product styles, features, and benefits.
  • Manage merchandising, operations, payroll, and budgets.
  • Analyze KPIs to drive store results and optimize performance across channels.

What you’ll do:
  • Build a talent pipeline through networking and recruiting
  • Develop succession plans by training and developing your team

  • Grow leaders through providing direction, delegation, and investing in their development
  • Create a genuine customer focus on the sales floor by leading and directing the Leader on Duty program
  • Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with our product styles, features, and benefits
  • Execute Company’s direction on merchandising and operations
  • Manage payroll and budgets
  • Understand and analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and identify behaviors to drive results
  • Seamlessly lead and integrate an omnichannel experience ensuring teams are trained on the tools available
  • Build customer loyalty through Company sponsored programs
  • Reduce loss through a consistent level of customer service, education, and operational controls
Qualities we’d love in a candidate:
  • A positive and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Effective and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills inclusive of leading, directing, and executing multiple tasks at once
  • Proficient computer and technology skills (Outlook, Excel, Web navigation, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3 years of retail or related management experience leading direct reports
  • A high school diploma
  • You can:Lift 40 pounds as needed, with frequent bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling
  • Stand or walk for extended periods of time
  • Climb up and down a ladder
  • Provide availability that may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays as scheduled, with a minimum of two closing shifts a week
