Pet Valu is hiring a Store Manager in Forest, Ontario to coach and develop the store team, deliver world‑class service, and help Pet Parents choose the right nutrition and supplies for their pets. Join a team of Pet Experts and enjoy perks alongside this important retail role.

We value 2+ years of retail leadership, strong customer service, reliability for weekend/evening shifts, and a positive, outgoing attitude with a passion for pets. POS experience and physical ability are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years customer service and retail store management experience.
• Outgoing and friendly personality with strong customer service skills.
• Ability to work weekends and evenings.
• Reliable means of transportation to and from the store.
• Observe and coach employees to provide feedback around sales techniques and providing excellent customer service.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience an asset.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customers and community relationships and customer service standards are met by staff; maintain courteous relationships within the community (e.g. Humane society).
• Manage a team of employees including recruiting, scheduling, training, day‑to‑day assignment of tasks, supervision and coaching.
• Ensure staff adhere to operational standards and procedures set at the corporate operations level.
• Coordinate administrative activities: order placements, maintain appropriate inventory, ensure store audits and safety audits are completed, coordinate minor store repairs, complete miscellaneous corporate paperwork.
• Coordinate efforts of store staff to achieve targeted business results.
• Other duties and tasks as required.

• Capacity for understanding inter‑team conflicts and escalating when necessary.
• Working knowledge of POS system.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs repetitively.
• Industry experience an asset.
