Job summary

Ace Liquor Discounter Canmore North is part of SNDL Inc., a leading liquor and cannabis retailer in Canada. We are seeking a motivated Store Manager to lead a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail environment and deliver exceptional customer experiences.

The role focuses on people leadership, store operations, customer service, and financial/inventory management. ProServe certification and the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a retail environment.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a supervisory or management role.
• ProServe certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand/walk for most of the shift.
• Strong communication, reliability, and teamwork skills.
• Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop all store employees and oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance.
• Oversee day-to-day store operations, ensure smooth workflows and maintain a safe, clean environment.
• Model friendly, informed, and responsible service with proper ID verification per AGLC rules.
• Manage store financials, meet or exceed sales and margin targets, and oversee inventory control and reporting.

About The Role

Ace Liquor Discounter has more than 130 locations in Alberta where you'll find great selection, better prices, and friendly, knowledgeable staff. We stock wines from around the world, local and international beers, and specialty spirits at everyday low prices.

We're looking for a motivated, dependable Store Manager to join our Ace Liquor team and create an exceptional experience for every customer who walks through our doors. This is a great opportunity for an experienced retail leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong, high-performing teams.

Leadership & People Management

• Lead, coach, and develop all store employees
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, scheduling, and performance management
• Foster a positive, engaged work culture and address issues promptly
• Ensure all team members follow company policies and alcohol regulations

Store Operations

• Oversee day-to-day store operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows
• Manage store communication (email, updates, direction setting)
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
• Ensure compliance with all provincial regulations and company standards

Customer Experience

• Model friendly, informed, and responsible service
• Ensure proper ID verification and adherence to AGLC rules
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and maintain strong community relationships

Financial & Inventory Management

• Manage store financials and help meet or exceed sales and margin targets
• Oversee inventory control, ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
• Review financial documentation for accuracy and prepare required reports
• Monitor loss prevention practices and ensure proper cash handling

What We’re Looking For
