Job summary
A leading sports retailer in Oshawa is seeking a Store Loss Prevention Lead to reduce losses and ensure a safe shopping environment. Responsibilities include monitoring the sales floor, coaching staff on loss prevention protocols, and maintaining security standards. The ideal candidate will have retail experience and a high school diploma. Training for necessary licenses will be provided.

Qualifications
- 6+ months of previous retail experience is considered an asset.
- 12+ months of experience as a Loss Prevention Officer or In-store Security is considered an asset.
- Valid CPR & First Aid training is required and can be completed during employment.
Responsibilities
- Lead efforts to reduce internal and external loss in the store.
- Maintain a Loss Prevention presence during high-risk hours.
- Coach associates on acknowledgment responsibilities.

What you’ll do
- As a Store Loss Prevention Lead at SportChek, your positive attitude will help customers and employees of the store. You will ensure customer and Loss Prevention awareness lives within the store environment.
- Reporting to the Store General Manager, you will be responsible for leading efforts to reduce internal and external loss by being a presence on the sales floor and ensuring the store executes all aspects of the LP Program.
- Maintain a Loss Prevention presence at the front of the store and in departments during high-risk hours.
- Be aware of your surroundings and ensure customers are acknowledged throughout the store.
- Ensure products are secure, following LP tagging standards, and high-value items remain locked.
- Log incidents as necessary and liaise with the Regional Loss Prevention Manager to share information.
- Coach associates to ensure they are aware of acknowledgment responsibilities and current LP Hotspots.
What you bring
- 6+ months of previous retail experience is considered an asset.
- 12+ months of experience as a Loss Prevention Officer or In-store Security is considered an asset.
- Experience in training and mentoring employees.
- Physically capable of lifting and moving containers up to 50lbs.
- Computer literacy is an asset.
- Passion for active activities and a drive to inspire others.
Educational Level
- High School Diploma.
- Provincially valid Security Guard or Investigator License is considered an asset.
