SUMMARY:
The Senior Replenishment Analyst acts as the leader to a team of Replenishment Analysts to achieve service level, in-stock, and inventory turn metrics, ensuring supply chain business strategies are implemented and maintained. This role will work closely with the Demand Forecasting team to review and resolve forecasting exceptions and modify system parameters to support the business model.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to help roll out a new forecasting system across grocery banners in Quebec and Ontario. This role participates in strategic process improvements initiatives by analyzing business processes, procedures and monitoring progress – working with various business units to generate best practices and creative/effective business processes. In doing so, the Senior Replenishment Analyst acts as a direct and primary link with Merchandising and Operations teams and is responsible for alignment.

Primary replenishment expert, this position is responsible for executing enhanced inventory practices using current and historical trends and analysis to maximize sales and inventory turns. The replenishment team plays a crucial role in our organization as it directly impacts the customer experience and ensures the product they are looking for is available for purchase. It has a high level of accountability as it directly impacts the bottom line and customer perception. At the intersection of Supply Chain and Store Operations, this is a cross-functional team who works on managing, optimizing and execution of the replenishment strategy for regular and promotional store fulfillment. As part of the Metro Supply Chain Modernization initiative, the replenishment team serves as the liaison between Merchandising, Store Operations, Replenishment and Distribution Centers.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Release and monitor systemically generated purchase orders using the SAP sales forecast as a primary input for the Stores and determine manual purchase quantities when required.
  • Manage the Store inventory exceptions (stock-out and excess). Working with replenishment and merchandising teams to ensure healthy inventory levels.
  • Manage store inventory to achieve the turn and fill rate objectives including service level/in-stock/days-on-hand targets for stores
  • Creation and management of service level agreements on store communication and response to inquiries
  • Act as primary contact for store operations regarding inventory, ordering and product flow
  • Communication, ensuring all forecast and flow requirements are executed to defined targets/standards while efficiently communicated to DC replenishment teams and store operations
  • Work with Transport, Distribution and DC replenishment team to co-ordinate flow of goods through the network
  • Provide reporting on inventory Key Performance Indicators on a recurrent basis to management
  • Execute detailed analysis using mathematical and statistical modeling to highlight major findings to various levels of the organization
  • Undertake process improvement efforts, focused on improving KPI’s including identifying opportunities and recommending solutions
  • Liaise and support cross-functional teams, merchandising, store operations and logistics to ensure the company meets performance targets
  • Build strong relationship with other business units and management to develop and ensure business processes execution – as well as provide them with tangible/effective suggestions and strategies
  • Provide guidance, training, and supervision to the Replenishment team
  • Provide SAP Super user and subject matter expertise for team and business units
  • Work closely with the Manager of Continuous Improvement to help define and implement new processes and system enhancements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in replenishment/inventory management, ideally in grocery retail environment
  • University Degree in Business/Engineering/Marketing/Economics
  • Experience and advanced knowledge of retail forecasting and experience with SAP replenishment system or other “best in class” platforms is a requirement
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations.
  • Good communication skills; collaborative with effective interpersonal and influencing skills; able to work across departments
  • Strong customer focus with business acumen, problem solving skills and results orientated than can manage competing priorities
  • Self-directed, ability to work with limited supervision. Preferably 1+ years of having direct reports or mentoring roles
  • Bilingual French/English is required
  • Rotating weekend/holiday schedule is required
  • Occasional travel within the Ontario or Quebec provinces to stores/warehouses/head office
