Job Description

We are seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Senior Finance Analyst at our Store Accounting Resource Center, reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance – Enterprise Business Services. This role supports 1,400 SDM stores on accounting inquiries and payroll tasks, involving various finance initiatives and projects, especially in business process development and documentation. You will work closely with management and different business units to analyze system and process issues, resolve store inquiries, and support project phases from development to testing and implementation. Join a dedicated team with exposure to financial systems and multiple business units within Loblaw, including pharmaceutical.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide excellent customer service to stores and all levels of the business.
  • Guide and train store staff on accounting and payroll questions.
  • Analyze inquiries, resolve issues through financial knowledge, process support, collaboration, or IT.
  • Collaborate with government bodies, benefits providers, and Stats Canada as needed.
  • Utilize technology to monitor inquiries and identify drivers affecting store performance.
  • Support projects, perform testing, and create business process documentation for training.
  • Coordinate meetings with stores, business, and IT teams.
  • Communicate and resolve system issues with project teams.
  • Build strong cross-functional relationships to support strategic initiatives.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
Qualifications and Competencies
  • Post-secondary education in Finance or related field; retail or corporate experience is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for managing interactions across the organization.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint; knowledge of MMS, ePOS, MicroStrategy, Power BI, Workday, WFM, Ceridian, Payroll is an asset.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Results-oriented with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • Ability to work effectively in a non-structured environment.
  • Store experience is an asset.
