Job summary

Air Canada in Ottawa requires an on-site Warehouse Associate to perform daily verification, shipping, receiving, and storage of aircraft parts. You will coordinate AOG deliveries, draft reports, and handle dangerous goods while maintaining inventory levels and safety compliance.

Flexibility to work various shifts, strong numerical skills, and knowledge of aircraft parts are valued. This role offers competitive hourly pay and benefits within a unionized maintenance department.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of warehouse experience.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.
  • Availability to work days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Comfortable working with numbers.
  • Ability to use a computer and navigate various software.
  • Knowledge of aircraft parts preferred and knowledge of common hardware essential.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and interact with other departments, staff members, and managers.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and reliability to promote the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in warehousing, supply chain, logistics, procurement, or with an airline, an asset.
  • Experience operating forklifts, an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily verification, shipping, receiving, inspection, issuance, order processing, processing of unusable items, and material storage.
  • Ensure daily key performance indicators are met.
  • Coordinate parts delivery for Aircraft on Ground (AOG), including customs clearance of parts after hours, when applicable.
  • Draft reports concerning measures taken for, among other things, obsolete material, parts and tooling returns, or wheel rotation.
  • Process and ship dangerous goods.
  • Understand customs regulations and prepare shipping documents.
  • In addition to Aircraft Maintenance, support all departments present at and around the airport, as required.
  • Control and maintain inventory at adequate levels.
  • Ensure compliance with Air Canada directives and policies at all times, while working safely. Maintain compliance with occupational safety standards.
  • Ensure maintenance standards are met in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Take initiative while managing workload and priorities.
  • Monitor temperature and humidity levels in storage areas.
  • Retrieve aircraft parts from Cargo – on or off airport grounds.
  • Create repair requests and ship items directly to suppliers via external courier services.
  • Perform other related tasks assigned.

  • During the probationary period:
    • Complete training on operating standards described in the control manual.
    • Obtain a Restricted Area Identity Card.
    • Obtain an airside vehicle operator's permit.
  • Be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearance and additional authorizations depending on the workplace.
