Job summary

Fairmont Royal York in Toronto invites you to join our storied landmark as a steward. You’ll complete all stewarding tasks, keep the dish area clean, operate the dishwashing machinery, and support banquet service when needed.

This role requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Starting rate is 23.32 CAD per hour, with wage increases after six months per the collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Must be a highly motivated individual.
• Must have an understanding of written and spoken English.
• Must be flexible with shift work hours.
• Prior experience is an asset.
• Must be able to perform physically under pressure.
• Must be able to work in a hot environment.
• Must be able to operate, lift, push and pull heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• To complete all stewarding tasks as assigned and maintain the highest level of Fairmont Hotels. To keep all immediate work areas clean and free from debris while adhering to all health and safety procedures of the hotel and kitchen.
• To operate, clean, and general maintenance of all machinery and heavy duty equipment within the department including the dishwashing machine, and soaking tanks
• To set up and organize the dish room areas and keep free from hazards and debris
• General dishwashing and cleaning duties
• Prepare coffee for banquets when required
• Follow all health and safety rules as outlined by the department and the hotel
• Ensures that all ECOSURE standards and processes are completed on a daily basis in his or her area of the department
• To uphold the highest standard of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
• To complete all other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor

Job Description

In this role you’ll get to:

• To complete all stewarding tasks as assigned and maintain the highest level of Fairmont Hotels. To keep all immediate work areas clean and free from debris while adhering to all health and safety procedures of the hotel and kitchen.

• To uphold the highest standard of Fairmont Hotels and Resorts
• To complete all other duties as assigned by your direct supervisor
