The Granite Club is seeking a part-time Steward Helper responsible for maintaining cleanliness in the main kitchen dish areas and other Food & Beverage kitchen outlet prep areas, equipment, and storage as designated.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain chemical levels at each dish/pot washing station.
  • Work in all Stewarding areas within the Club.
  • Assist Sous Chefs with prep work as needed.
  • Support kitchen staff when required.
  • Clean pots, pans, and kitchen equipment daily.
  • Sort and store china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and other dishes appropriately.
  • Follow proper lifting procedures when stacking and lifting.
  • Transport soiled and cleaned items safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain sanitizing temperatures at regulated levels.
  • Communicate shortages of chemicals and equipment promptly to the Sous Chef.
  • Participate in training opportunities as they arise.
  • Maintain high standards aligned with Granite Gold Standards.
  • Attend departmental meetings as applicable.
Required Qualifications
  • WHMIS Certification is an asset.
  • Basic understanding of chemicals.
  • Basic food preparation skills (e.g., peeling vegetables).
  • Proficiency in English (speaking and understanding).
  • Ability to listen and follow instructions.
  • Capable of working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to perform strenuous physical labor and lift 35-40 lbs.
  • Availability to work at least 2 nights per week, including weekends and holidays.
  • This is a union position.
Work Schedule
  • Availability to work weekends, weekdays, and holidays, morning and evening shifts.
