Job description

We are looking for a full-time Sterilization Technician to join our team.

If you are a dental hygiene student and want to pick up a few shifts doing sterilization during the summer, this role is perfect for you.

As the Sterilization Technician, you will join a team of dental professionals passionate about patient care.

PURPOSE :

Sterilize equipment according to manufacturer specifications and dentist requirements. Ensure the environment is free of bacteria, viruses, and fungi to provide high-quality dental care. Work under the supervision of the Dentist and with the Office Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
  • Collect, prepare, and organize tools for scheduled dental procedures.
  • Collect, catalogue, and clean surgical tools after procedures; inspect for wear or damage; order replacements; prepare tools for re-sterilization.
  • Operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, gas sterilizers, and other devices.
  • Maintain records of equipment operation and calibration; report issues to the Office Manager.
  • Manage supplies of sterile disposables, ensuring they are not expired; notify the Office Manager to reorder as needed.
  • Perform dental assistant duties when required.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills to ensure timely sterilization and availability of equipment, reducing patient wait times.

WORKING CONDITIONS :

Must wear safety glasses, masks, protective clothing, and gloves to prevent infection.
