Job summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking an OR Support staff member to assist the surgical team by positioning patients, cleaning operating rooms, stocking supplies and supporting case cart management. The role requires strong communication and the ability to handle delicate and heavy equipment, with a focus on patient-centered care.

Hours include rotating shifts across days and evenings. The position offers an hourly rate of $31.06 to $31.70, with employment under Halton Healthcare’s policies and equity

Qualifications

• Minimum grade 12 education required.
• Certificate from Medical Device Reprocessing Course or CSA Medical Device Reprocessing Certification; apprenticeship hours may count.
• One year OR experience in OR support role required.
• Experience in Central Sterilization and Reprocessing preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Position patients for procedures and assist OR nursing staff and physicians.
• Clean and stock operating rooms and ensure supplies are available.
• Handle case carts, pick cases, stock rooms and assist with transportation of patients.
• Provide support to OR staff in preoperative patient care.
• Maintain a satisfactory employment and attendance record.
