Job summary

Fraser Health Authority is seeking a Full Time Manager to lead the Medical Device Reprocessing team at Peace Arch Hospital in White Rock and Delta Hospital in Delta, BC.

The role oversees MDR services, staff leadership, budgeting, and compliance with health authority standards. The successful candidate will drive quality improvements, collaborate with surgical teams, and ensure safe, efficient reprocessing across designated sites.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Health Sciences or related field.
• Seven years of related experience including two years in a leadership role.
• Leadership practices per Fraser Health Leadership Framework.

Responsibilities

• Manages, plans, organizes and leads the operation of the MDR services for a designated portfolio/site.
• Manages program integration, strategic plan implementation, and evaluation of MDR for designated sites; aligns with Fraser Health’s strategic plan.
• Determines staffing requirements; recruits, directs, evaluates staff; ensures orientation, performance reviews and professional development.
• Ensures compliance with acts, regulations and collective agreements; addresses grievances; participates in contingency planning.
• Develops budget and manages department budget; conducts variance analysis and optimizes resources.
• Develops and maintains systems for effective reprocessing of equipment, materials and supplies, including preventive maintenance.
• Provides input on reprocessing locations and transfer requirements; develops protocols for decontamination and transfer.
• Collaborates with management to promote integrated services; sets reprocessing standards across related departments.
• Develops measurable objectives for Quality Assurance and drives continuous improvement.
• Prepares reports on workload, activity and quality assurance for regulatory needs.
• Establishes partnerships and participates in committees at local, provincial, and national levels.
