SENIOR STEEL DETAILER / CHECKER FOR CALGARY OFFICE

AW Design & Consulting Inc. is a growing company that provides integrated Steel Structure designing and detailing solutions to maximize your scheduling and budgetary requirements. We offer a full range of structural steel design services.

As a Drafting and Detailing Checker, you will be responsible for checking construction and shop drawings related to projects. This is a senior position in our organization and previous experience in a related checking role is required with the full knowledge of Tekla Software. You will work closely with a strong knowledgeable team in a fast-paced environment with leading-edge technology.

Qualification & Experience: Engineering Graduate/Diploma holder with 10 to 12 years of Tekla Model & Drawing Checking.

Job Description:

• Should have experience with Tekla software
• Should have sound knowledge of CISC specifications
• Accurate Interpretation of IFC drawings/SPEC doc/CONNECTION design.
• Checking of GA/ERECTION drawings.
• Preparing AML (Advance Material List) reports.
• Preparing AB (Anchor Bolt) plans.
• Model-checking.
• Responsible for ensuring drawings are completed and correct according to the project's construction drawings.
• Responsible for checking structural details for being practical, efficient, and accurate.
• Working with drafters in the department to ensure that proper drafting standards are being upheld and followed.
• Ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is available to complete checks.

Requirements:

Minimum 10 years of experience in the construction industry.

Excellent Tekla drafting skills

Outstanding communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Deadline driven with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.

Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to learn and retain new skills in a timely matter.
