AV Group NB Inc. Atholville Mill is currently recruiting for the following position: Power Engineer – Steam & Recovery Operator

As the Steam & Recovery Operator, you will operate and maintain a power plant or any low-pressure steam plant by operating, repairing, and carrying out preventative maintenance on the boilers, emergency power, and other related equipment of the facility in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor control of operation through DCS (distributed computer system) and effectively troubleshoot equipment.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough log entries and perform necessary testing.
  • Optimize and control materials to efficiently treat and dispose into recovery system.
  • Work in collaboration with other operators.
  • Lubricate, oil, and assist in preventative maintenance on all machinery.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping in all related steam plant areas.
  • Respond to trouble calls and carry out necessary corrective action during weekends and off shifts.
  • Participate in plant equipment repairs & installations.
  • Interface with necessary contractual & inspection departments for corrective requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience considered an asset.
  • Must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, overtime, and in-calls.
  • Good basic computer and communication skills.
