Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking an experienced Station Assistant Superintendent to assist in managing on-site construction activities across civil, foundations, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing works in transit stations in Canada.

You will coordinate daily operations with the superintendent and subcontractors, conduct regular inspections, maintain records, and ensure adherence to project specifications and safety regulations while supporting a collaborative team focused on

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute.
• Valid Ontario Driver's License G or G2.
• 3–5 years of experience in construction management or supervision in transit stations.
• Experience with TTC and Metrolinx Specifications and Standards for Transit Stations is an asset.
• Go Corridor Experience is an asset.
• Experience reading Civil, Architectural, Structural and MEP drawings.
• Knowledge of stations construction practices, materials, and local regulations.
• Proficiency in project management software and AutoCAD.
• A commitment to safety and quality, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
• A positive attitude and a collaborative spirit, with a focus on achieving project goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing and supervising on-site construction activities, including civil, foundations, structural steel and concrete, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works.
• Coordinate daily operations and communicate effectively with superintendent, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with project schedules.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of work in progress to ensure adherence to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
• Ensure that all work complies with the local authority project standards, requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Assist in supervising Foremen and crews (labor and equipment). Know production and track daily.
• Assist in confirming manpower and equipment resources required for performance, proposing alternatives to increase efficiency.
• Coordinate job requirements of company resources to ensure optimum use.
• Help to oversee and coordinate subcontractor’s work, ensuring they perform on schedule and in accordance with the subcontract.
• Maintain positive jobsite relations with owner, subcontractors, and prime contractor.
• Maintain accurate records of project activities, including daily reports, inspection reports, and safety documentation.
• Coordinate with the Superintendent on production review, activity planning, progress, and compliance with Contract Documents.
• Take all steps necessary to complete the contract in accordance with the Contract provisions.
• Ensures work is being performed with Safety, Quality and Environmental guidelines of the project.
• Conduct daily checks on safety to ensure safety protocols are being monitored and risks are mitigated.
• Perform other related duties as assigned, promoting a positive team environment and a culture of collaboration.

Job Description

Working Conditions

• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environmental conditions.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Preferred Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
• Must possess a valid Ontario Driver's License G or G2.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in construction management or supervision in transit stations.
• Experience with TTC and Metrolinx Specifications and Standards for Transit Stations is an asset.

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $100,000–$125,000 CAD, with compensation determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
