Job summary

Randstad Canada in Calgary is seeking a dedicated forklift operator to join our yard team. You will load, unload, and move building materials using sit-down counterbalance and reach trucks, ensuring accurate order picking and safe, efficient yard operations.

This role offers Monday–Friday hours with shifts from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, overtime opportunities, a comprehensive benefits package, and a temp-to-permanent opportunity for reliable performers.

Qualifications

• Valid external forklift certification.
• Experience operating sit-down counterbalance and reach trucks.
• Able to perform heavy lifting and work outdoors in varying conditions.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down counterbalance and reach trucks safely to load, unload, and move building supplies in the yard.
• Execute accurate order picking to ensure customers receive the correct materials for their construction projects.
• Assist visiting customers with order pickups and heavy material loading.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure yard by following safety protocols on every shift.
• Perform essential yard tasks involving heavy, repetitive lifting to keep materials moving without delay.

Responsibilities

• Operate sit-down counterbalance and reach trucks safely to load, unload, and maneuver building supplies efficiently throughout the yard.
• Orchestrate accurate order picking to guarantee customers receive the exact materials required for their construction projects.
• Serve as a primary point of contact by directly assisting visiting customers with order pickups and heavy material loading.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and secure yard environment by upholding strict workplace safety protocols on every shift.
• Execute essential physical yard tasks involving heavy and repetitive lifting to keep materials moving without delay.

Qualifications

• Valid external forklift certification.
• Proven experience operating sit-down counterbalance and reach trucks (previous outdoor yard experience is a strong asset)
• Comfortable performing heavy, repetitive lifting and working outdoors in varying conditions.
• Ready to tackle a Monday–Friday schedule with shifts varying between 6:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
• Mobile and adaptable (while this position is transit-accessible ( 10-15 minutes from the nearest bus stop) , having reliable personal transport opens up opportunities across our other local site locations.
